The week in pictures....

Below should be a small collection of the pictures from the week that was as promised….
I just couldn’t resist saying a few words as well….
Last night I went to and African Dance class which was so good. I really didn’t want to go as I was feeling do exhausted from the day but after and Hamburger com ovo (egg) e quiejo (cheese) I was almost ready. The dancing is on the 8th floor of this massive building. The class starts at 6.30pm and finishes at 8pm and you dance, dance, dance, dance the whole time. I didn’t pay which was a little confusing so I don’t know if it really is free or I just didn’t see where I had to pay. Anyway we are learning a dance from the North of Mozambique and its all in the bum….you kind of swing your arm around in a from left to right in a half moon style and then give your bum a little shake….obviously there are more elements to the routine but so far that’s all we’ve learnt as before the actually routine starts we do a series of practise moves…..I was so energised after the class it was so good.
Anyway I couldn’t work out what chapa to take me home last night after the lesson so I slept on the floor of our apartment. I think that was possible one of the WORST nights sleep Ive EVER had. The floor is concrete and despite Jan putting down the bamboo mats and some rugs that are neighbour lent us it was by no means even close to a spring mattress…..then there were the mosquitoes that were raining in my ears as we have no net yet AND the ANTS…..I was having a mental insect break down. It took me about 3hrs to fall asleep…..I don’t know if this is really going to work for me! I know Im drama, drama, drama. So just to add to that drama my beautiful little mitts are not made for hand washing!!! You should be able to see that from my 1 ½ hrs of hand washing on Thursday my hands are now peeling, AGAIN. Melita said it was from hand washing the last time it happened and I thought I had some kind of chapa educed hand disease but no, its from washing my knick naks, maybe they just have to get with the programme….there are no washing machines here guys!

A man making Sugar Cane juice by the side of the road.......it was soooooooo good!

Jan and I thought it just need a touch of rum and it would have been perfect......Jelani I think sugar can juice, minus the rum, could be your new thing. You add a little lemon and its better, yes I said it, better thean just straight up lemon juice!

Turn that bad boy....

Beautiful views of the Ocean on a long walk along the water front....

Party at Heathers....her apartment is sooooooo nice BUT she has massive RATS in her garden so its not that lovely!

Getting down Mozambican style with drummer and all sorts.....

The three amigos!

The boys with Mushanga who is an amazing man. He is in charge of looking after all the boys and they respect him so much. He is always firm but fair and even though we dont speak the same language I thin he really loves this children.

Toze getting his trainers fitted.....he thought he was a little bit hot and trotted out doing a little dance routine!

Line up Line up......who is next?

Carlton, Felix and Sabastiao trying some Yoga with Sarah........Felix couldnt quiet get this right!

Sarah the Yoga Queen......we think we might do Yoga withthe boys. We just need to find an instructor......

One of those pairs if not both had a really funky smell......I did my best to work them whilist one of the boys to the shot!

This is the inside of the apartment......Toby is catching a few winks on that really soft floor! As you can see its the hight of luxury!

Outside our city crib......the ants were EVERYWHERE!

This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed at home.......aawwww dont they look sweet
